Prachanda claims Maoists on path to revival, welcomes news members from Mohan Baidya-led faction

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ announced the party’s resurgence following years of internal challenges.

Speaking from his residence in Khumaltar, Dahal welcomed leaders from the Communist Party of Nepal (Revolutionary Maoist), led by Mohan Baidya, marking a significant step towards consolidating Maoist factions.

In his address, Dahal reflected on the journey of the Maoist party, crediting its rise to milestones such as the People’s war, the peace process, and the 2008 Constituent Assembly election.

“The Maoists became the most reliable and the first party of the people during these transformative times,” Dahal said.

He added that while the Maoist movement had faced challenges after the split, the party was now on an upward trajectory, aiming to continue with “transformation and unity.”

Highlighting an increase in public support for the Maoist Centre, Dahal said that the people seek a united Maoist front.

He noted ongoing discussions for party unity across various Maoist factions and the growing polarization among leaders and supporters.

As one of the principal figures in the people’s war and peace process, Daha stressed his commitment to progress alongside party members from all backgrounds.

The event witnessed the entry of Communist Party of Nepal (Revolutionary Maoist) Kapilvastu’s leaders into the Maoist Centre, with Dr Tharu ‘Sherman’ stating that all district members would officially join the Centre in an upcoming district program.

The ceremony also saw the attendance of Lumbini Province in-charge Chakrapani Khanal ‘Baldev,’ emphasising the regional support for Dahal’s efforts to unify and strengthen the Maoist party.

Dahal concluded with a pledge to foster good governance, social justice, and prosperity as Prime Minister, aligning with the Maoist Centre’s renewed mission to resonate with the public’s aspirations.
