Dalit activist Khagendra Sunar arrested in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Dalit activist Khagendra Sunar has been arrested while staging a symbolic protest in Kathmandu.

Sunar had been demonstrating at Maitighar, wrapping himself in approximately 2 kilograms of metal chains, to demand equality and inclusion in governmental and political appointments.

According to the police, Sunar was arrested after attempting to enter the federal parliament building.

He is currently being held at the Baneshwor Police Circle.
