KATHMANDU: Nepalis living in Thailand and various organizations of Nepali-speaking people organized a program in Bangkok today to celebrate Bhanu Jayanti.

During the event, Nepali Ambassador to Thailand, Dhan Bahadur Oli, emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the Nepali language and culture.

He highlighted the unparalleled role of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, a pioneering poet, in the development of the Nepali language.

Ambassador Oli expressed his satisfaction with the collaborative effort of all Nepalis and Nepali-speaking organizations to organize a special program focused on language and literature.

He pledged the Embassy’s ongoing support for such activities.

The event was attended by Bhabindra Basnet, President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association in Thailand; Laxman KC, President of the Thai Nepali Association; representatives from various organizations; and young literati.

A book related to the Nepali language was also distributed during the program.

The Nepali-speaking community in Thailand is significant, and the celebration of Bhanu Jayanti underscores their commitment to preserving their linguistic and cultural heritage.
