New alliance of UML and NC demand resignation of Sudurpaschim CM Sodari

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML, Nepali Congress (NC), and Nagarik Unmukti Party have collectively called for the resignation of Sudurpaschim Province Chief Minister Dirgha Sodari.

At a joint press conference held in Dhangadi today, leaders from these parties urged CM Sodari to step down.

Kamal Bahadur Shah, the NC parliamentary party leader in the province, stated, “With the formation of a new alliance, CM Sodari has already lost his majority in the provincial assembly. Even if he attempts a floor test, he will fail.”

The conference was attended by Santosh Thapa and Chief Whip Bir Bahadur Thapa of CPN-UML, Nagarik Unmukti Party parliamentary party leader Ghanshyam Chaudhary, and former minister Rameshwor Chaudhary, among others.

Due to the shifting political dynamics at the central level, CPN-UML has withdrawn its support for CM Sodari, leaving him without the majority needed to govern.
