KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called for a meeting of the Central Work Executive Committee (CWEC).
The meeting is scheduled for Saturday at 2 pm at the party office in Sanepa, as announced by Congress General Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.
The agenda includes deciding on ministers to participate in the government led by CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli and discussing other current political situations.
Following the resignation of CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda as Prime Minister on Friday, Oli has already presented his claim for the Prime Minister position to President Ramchandra Paudel.
Although President Paudel had called for claims to be made by Sunday under Article 76(2) of the Constitution, both NC President Deuba and UML Chair Oli submitted the new coalition’s claim on Friday evening.
NC and UML reached an agreement to form a coalition government, with Oli serving as Prime Minister initially on July 1.
