KATHMANDU: Chief Minister (CM) Dirgha Sodari of Sudurpaschim Province is preparing to seek a vote of confidence on May 16, spurred by the recent decision of the CPN (Unified Socialist) to support CM Hikmat Karki of CPN-UML in the Koshi Province.

Previously, CM Karki attempted to secure the confidence vote twice but was unsuccessful in his endeavors.

“Following the Unified Socialist party’s decision to back CM Karki in the Koshi Province, CM Sodari is scheduled to seek a vote of confidence on May 16,” Naresh Shahi, former Finance Minister, informed Khabarhub.

Rajendra Singh Rawal, the parliamentary party leader of UML, affirmed that the party will now extend its support to CM Sodari in Sudurpaschim Province.

Despite belonging to the same ruling coalition, Chairman of UML KP Oli and Chairman of Unified Socialist Nepal have seemingly been unable to reconcile their differences.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has taken on the role of mediator in their ongoing disputes.
