Nepal achieves consecutive victory in ACC Premier Cup, defeats Qatar by 32 runs
Nepal has clinched its second consecutive victory in the ACC Premier Cup. In Saturday’s match, Nepal defeated Qatar by 32 runs, securing their second consecutive win. Qatar, chasing Nepal’s target of 211 runs, managed to score 178 runs, losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Earlier, Nepal had scored 210 runs, losing 7 wickets in 20 overs, after winning the toss and opting to bat first.
Expenditure review: Only 32 percent of allocated expenditure utilized until third quarter of FY 2080/81
The utilization of the development budget has been notably low until the end of the third quarter of the fiscal year 2080-81. According to the Office of the Auditor General, only 32.24 percent of the allocated expenditure has been utilized until the end of Chaitra (mid-April). For the current fiscal year, a total budget of Rs. 302.07 billion was allocated for capital expenditure; however, only Rs. 97.37 billion has been spent so far.
UML Chair Oli calls for renewed hope and vigilance in New Year address

The meeting is set to commence at 8 am tomorrow at the federal parliament building located in Baneshwar. This announcement comes as the government has declared the conclusion of the current house session, with the final parliamentary meeting scheduled for 11 am on the same day.
Government suspends issuance of labor permits for Russia and Ukraine employment
The government has taken a significant step by halting the issuance of labor permits for individuals intending to work in Russia and Ukraine for foreign employment. The Ministry of Labor, Employment, and Social Security, citing concerns about the potential enlistment of Nepali nationals in the Russian and Ukrainian armies, has made the decision to suspend permit issuance until further notice.
16 border pillars missing in Nepal-India border Banke
As many as sixteen border pillars along the 65-kilometer Nepal-India border adjoining the Banke district have been found missing. According to Chief of the Armed Police Force Nepal Bageshwori Battalion, deputed for the security of border pillars, Bimal Dangi, five main border pillars and 11 auxiliary pillars are missing in the district. Most of the missing border pillars were situated in riverside areas and some of the remaining pillars are in dilapidated condition.

Three Dolpa children succumb to injuries from forest fire
In a devastating turn of events, all three children critically injured in a forest fire at Sun Community Forest of Tripurasundari Municipality-4 in Dolpa district have tragically succumbed to their burn injuries. Chief District Officer Tulasi Prasad Dahal confirmed that two of the children passed away today while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu, while the third child had already lost their life at District Hospital, Dolpa on Friday. The victims, identified as Bibas Budha (12), Samant Budha (13), and Salas Budha (10), sustained severe injuries in the blaze while collecting Guchhi mushrooms in the nearby community forest.

Durbar Marg and Thamel area to open 24 hours
Beginning today, Durbar Marg and the Thamel area within Kathmandu Metropolitan City will be open 24 hours. According to Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, this decision goes into effect from the 1st of Baisakh, 2081 (Nepali calendar). “Thamel and Durbar Marg areas will now be accessible around the clock for commercial activities, with clear standards, regulations, and comprehensive security measures,” he stated.
