Nepal achieves consecutive victory in ACC Premier Cup, defeats Qatar by 32 runs



KATHMANDU: Nepal has clinched its second consecutive victory in the ACC Premier Cup.

In Saturday’s match, Nepal defeated Qatar by 32 runs, securing their second consecutive win.

Qatar, chasing Nepal’s target of 211 runs, managed to score 178 runs, losing 9 wickets in 20 overs.

Earlier, Nepal had scored 210 runs, losing 7 wickets in 20 overs, after winning the toss and opting to bat first.

For Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airee played aggressively, scoring an unbeaten 64 runs. He completed his half-century in just 19 balls.

Airee smashed six sixes in the final over.

Similarly, Aasif Sheikh contributed 52 runs, while Kushal Malla scored 35, captain Rohit Paudel scored 18, Kushal Bhurtel scored 12, Sandeep Jora scored 7, and Gulshan Jha scored 5 runs.

Furthermore, Qatar’s bowlers Himanshu Rathod and Musawar Shah took 3 wickets each.

With this victory, Nepal now stands at 4 points in Group A after two matches.

Nepal will play its next match against Hong Kong on Monday.
