Durbar Marg and Thamel area to open 24 hours



KATHMANDU: Beginning today, Durbar Marg and the Thamel area within Kathmandu Metropolitan City will be open 24 hours.

According to Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, this decision goes into effect from the 1st of Baisakh, 2081 (Nepali calendar).

“Thamel and Durbar Marg areas will now be accessible around the clock for commercial activities, with clear standards, regulations, and comprehensive security measures,” he stated.

Previously, the Ministry and traders engaged in discussions at various levels regarding the possibility of extending the operating hours in these areas.
