Nepal suffers early setback, loses wickets in opening overs against PNG

KATHMANDU: Nepal faced an early setback in their chase of 172 runs against Papua New Guinea (PNG) in the Tri-nations T20 International Series finals, losing two wickets in the initial overs.

Nepal’s opening batsmen, Kushal Bhurtel and Binod Bhandari, managed to score five and four runs respectively before being dismissed.

PNG’s Kabua Morea was responsible for the early breakthroughs, claiming the wickets of the Nepali openers.

As the match progressed beyond the five-over mark, Nepal reached a score of 32 runs, losing two wickets, with 15 more overs to play and eight wickets remaining.
