Maoist Center’s statute convention to begin today

KATHMANDU: The statute convention of the ruling Maoist Center is set to begin in Kathmandu today.

The party said all necessary preparations for the conference to be held at the Nepal Academy have been completed.

Dor Prasad Upadhyaya, Secretary of the Maoist Center Central Office, said that over 1,200 delegates are expected to partake in the three-day conference.

The primary objective of the conference is to formulate essential statute to facilitate the party’s organized functioning.

To accomplish this goal, the party established a statute drafting committee, led by Vice Chairman Pampha Bhusal, responsible for preparing the draft of the proposed law.

Key members of the drafting committee, including Dev Prasad Gurung, Giriraj Mani Pokharel, Barshman Pun, Janardan Sharma, Surendra Karki, and Ganesh Sah, collaborated on the draft.

The completed draft has already been submitted to Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda.

Following this, the proposed statute underwent scrutiny during the party’s Standing Committee meeting.
