The political system is under threat from parties nominating losers to National Assembly: Rabi Lamichhane

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) chairman Rabi Lamichhane has expressed concern that the current political system faces a risk of destabilization due to efforts from the parties in power to bring individuals who lost in elections to the National Assembly.

Speaking at a public program presenting the one-year report of RSP lawmaker Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, the RSP chairman accused the ruling parties of putting the system at risk for their undue and selfish activities.

“Attacks on the current system have escalated, with those consistently losing in elections resorting to unethical methods to bring themselves into the National Assembly. This mockery of the Constitution and the system is a serious concern,” Lamichhane said.

He added that the inability to take action against the corrupt and the attempts to bring the losers back to the National Assembly has jeopardized the system.
