Maoist Center to convene statute convention on Feb 13-15

KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-Maoist Center has decided to convene a statute conference of the party on February 13.

According to party spokesperson, Agni Sapkota, the party’s standing committee meeting held at Parisdanda on Saturday decided to hold a legislative convention on February 13, 14, and 15.
Earlier, the party had formed a seven-member drafting committee under the leadership of Vice Chair Pampha Bhusal to draft the documents for the statute convention.

The committee submitted the draft to the party chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ only on Friday.

Sapkota informed that there will also be a discussion on the review of the four-month ‘Maoist Special Transformation Campaign with the People’ and the task division of the leaders in the ongoing standing committee meeting.

The Maoist Center conducted a four-month transformation campaign from September 2, 2023, to January 1, 2024.

“In the standing committee meeting, the reports received from all seven provinces during the campaign will be discussed,” spokesperson Sapkota said.

He added that the standing committee meeting has also made the criteria for selecting representatives for statute convention.
