Electric microbuses launched with over Rs. 10 crore investment



KATHMANDU: Samakhusi Yatayat Pvt. Ltd. has introduced 20 electric microbuses with a total investment of 10.30 crore rupees.

The company, which has been providing transport services since 2000, commenced the operation of these electric vehicles starting today.

Chairperson Sanu Kaji Prajapati stated that the microbuses were introduced to address the needs of residents in Kathmandu’s northern region.

“The passenger load in the Kathmandu Valley is high, and we believe these additional microbuses will make commuting more convenient,” he said.

Currently, Samakhusi Yatayat operates 80 microbuses and 50 large buses for passenger transport.

According to the company’s finance manager, Dipendra KC, the new microbuses will operate in areas such as Baniyatar, Bhatkeko Pul, Manmaiju, Jhor, Tokha, Basundhara, and Mhepi.

The company also reported that it employs around 350 drivers and co-drivers.
