After statement, Ravi says: A tiger doesn’t become a Jackal by being caged

RUPANDEHI: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Ravi Lamichhane, implicated in a cooperative savings fraud case, gave his statement on Tuesday at the District Government Attorney’s Office in Rupandehi.

He was brought to Bhairahawa from Kaski by Shree Airlines around 11 a.m., and the government attorney recorded his statement for about an hour.

Following the statement, he was held in custody at the District Police Office in Rupandehi around 5:30 p.m.

After his statement, Lamichhane briefly addressed his supporters and journalists from the office balcony.

As he was being led from the balcony to the police van, his supporters cheered him on, shouting, “Ravi Dai, don’t worry.” Lamichhane responded with a thumbs-up.

As he was about to descend from the balcony, he softly remarked, “A tiger doesn’t become a jackal just by being caged.” As he finished speaking, startled police officers immediately led him to the van. Previously, his comments at the court premises in Pokhara also sparked controversy.
