POKHARA: Police arrested Dhaka Kumar Shrestha, a former Member of Parliament of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), from his clinic in Pokhara on Thursday.

The arrest was part of an ongoing investigation into drug-related activities.

Authorities allege that drugs were being sold from Diya Pharmacy, which is operated by Shrestha.

According to the District Police Office in Kaski, Shrestha’s arrest follows the investigation into Prakash Thapa Magar, who was previously detained on drug charges.

Shrestha, a former proportional member of parliament, had previously been embroiled in controversy after it was revealed that he had a contentious relationship with medical college operator Durga Prasai.

Reports indicated that the core team of the RSP had allegedly demanded three crore rupees to appoint him as the Health Minister.

Following these revelations, Shrestha was subsequently removed from his position within the party.
