JSP Nepal Convention: Upendra Yadav to reclaim post as Chairman

KATHMANDU: Upendra Yadav is poised to reclaim his position as Chairman of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal during the ongoing party convention.

According to party sources, Yadav has secured the support of the majority of party members for his re-election as Chairman.

The convention will elect a 201-member central committee and 20 office bearers, according to Manish Suman, the spokesperson of JSP Nepal.

Suman detailed that the party’s leadership structure will include one Chairman, one Assistant Vice Chairman, one Vice Chairman, two General Secretaries, three Deputy General Secretaries, seven Secretaries, and one Treasurer.

Former lawmaker Raj Kumar Sharma, who recently left the CPN (Maoist Center) to join JSP Nepal, has filed his candidacy for the position of General Secretary.

Additionally, Raj Kishor Yadav and Lal Babu Raut are vying for the role of Assistant Vice Chairman.

Following a split, the party currently has five lawmakers representing it in the House of Representatives (HoR).
