T20 WC: Nepal and Sri Lanka share points after rain halts play

KATHMANDU: The match between Nepal and Sri Lanka scheduled for Wednesday morning under the ICC T20 World Cup was interrupted by rain, leading to both countries sharing one point each.

The game, set to be played at 5:15 am Nepali time at the Lauderhill Field in Florida, USA, was affected by continuous rain.

Despite initial hopes that play would resume once the rain stopped, the weather did not clear, and the match was ultimately abandoned.

Consequently, Nepal and Sri Lanka each received one point.

In Group D, prior to this match, Sri Lanka had played two matches, and Nepal had played one, with neither team having any points.

This result changes the standings, as both teams now have one point each.
