Speaker holding meeting with Chief Whips to address parliament deadlock

KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has called a meeting involving the Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, alongside chief whips and whips from various political parties.

Scheduled for 2 pm at the Speaker’s office in Singha Durbar, the meeting aims to deliberate on formulating policies and programs slated for presentation in Parliament on May 14.

Amid continuous disruptions by the Nepali Congress in Parliament, demanding the formation of a parliamentary committee to probe Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in the cooperative scam case, the Speaker seeks to gather insights from chief whips on resolving the issue.

Additionally, the meeting is also expected to address strategies for effectively presenting the government’s agenda in Parliament.
