Illegal opium cultivation on 172 ropanis of land destroyed in Rukum Paschim



RUKUM PASCHIM: Police have destroyed the illegal opium poppy farming on across 172 ropanis (1 ropani is equivalent to 508.74 square metres) of land at different parts of Rukum Paschim.

The District Police Office (DPO), Rukum Paschim said that the illicit plantation in Aathbiskot municipality, Musikot municipality and Sanibheri rural municipality in the district were razed down recently.

Police Inspector and Information Officer at the DPO, Rukum Paschim, Dharmendra Khadka, shared that a team of police destroyed opium cultivated in 60 ropanis area in Aathbiskot municipality ward no 1 and ward no 2 and in 45 ropanis in ward no 5.

Similarly, cannabis planted in 29 ropanis of land ward no 3 in Sanibheri rural municipality, in one ropani in Musikot rural municipality, in 37 ropanis in ward no 3 and 7 of Aathbiskot rural municipality were also destroyed, informed Police Inspector Khadka.
