Nagarik Unmukti issues whip to vote in favor of Prime Minister Dahal

The Nagarik Unmukti Party has declared its support for Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ by casting votes in favor of the vote of confidence. Ranjita Shrestha, the chairperson of the party, directed party lawmakers to cast their votes in favor of Prime Minister Dahal on Tuesday. She instructed all four party members to be present and vote in favor of the motion.

NC aims to retain Chief Minister positions in provinces, seeks support from smaller parties

The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to make efforts to retain leadership in the provinces by seeking support from fringe parties in the respective regions. During a meeting at party President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha, NC leaders, including office bearers, lawmakers, and province leaders, agreed to strive for the continuity of the Chief Minister’s position with support from smaller parties in the provinces.

NC Leaders suggest President Deuba initiate dialogue with RPP

Nepali Congress leaders have urged President Sher Bahadur Deuba to engage in discussions with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) for a possible alliance against the CPN-Maoist Center-led ruling coalition. According to sources, NC office bearers, former office bearers and province leaders assembled for a meeting at President Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Tuesday, decided to seek support of the fring parties in provinces.

In a meeting of the UML parliamentary party held on Tuesday, the UML Chairman instructed all to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister. Prime Minister Dahal is taking vote of confidence on Wednesday.

The Janamat Party has made the decision not to grant a vote of confidence to the government. After a meeting held in Kathmandu on Tuesday, the party spokesperson, Dr. Sharad Singh Yadav, revealed that the Janamat Party chose to abstain from supporting the vote of confidence proposed by Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda.’ Furthermore, the party has declared its intention to field one candidate each in the Ilam constituency of the House of Representatives and the Bajhang Provincial Assembly election.

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has issued a whip to its lawmakers, directing them to support Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the upcoming confidence vote. PM Dahal is slated to seek a vote of confidence on Wednesday. During a parliamentary party meeting held earlier this morning, the party unanimously decided to back PM Dahal in the confidence vote and issued a whip accordingly.

NEPSE market index: Gains 58.58 points to reach 2111.24 points

In a remarkable upswing, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) experienced a substantial surge, elevating by 58.58 points to a new high of 2111.24 points. This surge on Tuesday also saw a significant uptick in transaction volume. The Nepal Stock Exchange reported a robust transaction amount of 4.55 billion rupees for the day. Remarkably, this surge in trading activity was propelled by the sale of a total of 16 million shares.
