Unified Socialist to back PM Dahal in confidence vote and ruling alliance’s candidate in NA Chair election



KATHMANDU: In a significant move, the CPN (Unified Socialist) has announced its decision to throw its support behind Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal in a confidence vote and to vote for Narayan Dahal, the candidate of the ruling alliance, in the National Assembly Chair election.

Following a meeting of key leaders of the ruling alliance held this morning at Baluwatar, the decision to support PM Dahal and the ruling alliance’s candidate was confirmed by Prakash Jwala, the deputy secretary-general of the party.

The National Assembly Chair election is slated to take place today, while PM Dahal is set to seek a vote of confidence on Wednesday.
