KP Oli Cup Tournament: Leaders and artists play to a 3-3 draw in friendly match

KATHMANDU: In a friendly match between political leaders and artists of the country, both teams played to a 3-3 draw on Monday.

The preparation for the second edition of the KP Oli Cup brought political leaders and artists together in a friendly football match.

The game held on Monday at the ANFA Complex in Satdobato ended in a 3-3 draw.

The political team included leaders like Ranjit Tamang from the CPN-Maoist Center, while the artists’ team had participants like Dhiren Shakya, Krishna Malla, and Rabindra Khadka.

CPN-UML Chair KP Oli observed the match from the sidelines.

The second edition of the KP Oli Cup, organized by the UML-affiliated Rastriya Yuva Sangh, is scheduled to take place in Kathmandu from February 23 to March 2.

Along with the KP Oli Football Club, seven A Division clubs will also participate in the competition.

The Delhi Football Club from India and the Manebhanjyang Club from West Bengal, India, are also set to participate in the tournament.

The organizers have announced a cash prize of 1.1 million rupees for the winning team and 500,000 rupees for the runner-up.

Additionally, the best player of the tournament will receive a cash prize of 100,000 rupees, and the best goalkeeper, highest scorer, and emerging player will each be awarded 50,000 rupees.

The organizers will also provide a cash award of 15,000 rupees for the Man of the Match in every game.
