KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) party is holding a meeting of its office bearers today.
The meeting will take place tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8:30 am at the residence of NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha.
The agenda includes discussions on recent controversies involving party members, specifically Deputy Speaker Indira Rana and Nepali Congress MP Dhanraj Gurung.
Concerns have been raised in the House of Representatives about Deputy Speaker Rana allegedly writing a letter to the United States Embassy recommending individuals for travel to the United States, which some view as compromising the dignity of her office.
Additionally, Nepali Congress MP Gurung faces accusations of embezzling approximately 150 million rupees from the Lalitpur-based Miteri Savings and Loan Cooperative Society.
Gurung has responded by stating that his ex-wife, Jyoti Gurung, was implicated in the cooperative fraud case and that they divorced in 2020, asserting that he should not be held responsible for the case.
