NEPSE index soars to 2,860.91 points with historic turnover of Rs. 25.77 billion



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index on Sunday surged dramatically, closing at 2,860.91 points—a notable increase of 94.53 points or 3.41 percent from the previous session.

This follows a smaller gain of 6.70 points in the last trading day, indicating a strong upward trend.

The index started at 2,780.09 points and saw fluctuations throughout the day, peaking at 2,860.96 points and dipping to a low of 2,779.24 points before ending at its closing level.

The trading session was marked by high activity, with 330 stocks exchanged in 275,207 transactions, totaling a record-breaking turnover of Rs. 25.77 billion.

This is the highest turnover ever recorded in NEPSE’s history, reflecting robust market liquidity and investor confidence.

Market capitalization rose to Rs. 4.541 trillion, and float market capitalization reached Rs. 1.57 trillion, further underscoring the market’s expansion.
