BAGLUNG: A landslide and subsequent flooding have displaced 50 families in Badigad, Baglung.

The affected families are from Nayabasti in Badigad Rural Municipality-9 and Ward No. 10, including areas such as Arupata, Patale, Khor, Salledhara, and other nearby settlements.

This disaster follows a recent landslide that claimed 11 lives, with one person still unaccounted for.

The displaced families are facing significant challenges, as both water and electricity supplies have been disrupted.

The situation is particularly dire for children and the elderly.

Local resident Bhim Bahadur Budha said that many houses in the village are at risk of further landslides, forcing residents to evacuate their homes.

He noted that surrounding settlements are also in danger.

Bhimsen Wan, Vice President of Badigad Rural Municipality, stated that the displaced families are being accommodated in schools and public spaces.
