KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress has demanded the resignation of Bagmati Province Chief Minister Shalikram Jamkattel.

In a press statement issued today, Bahadur Singh Lama, the party’s parliamentary leader in Bagmati Province, called for CM Jamkattel’s resignation, stating that the CPN-UML has withdrawn its support, resulting in the loss of the CM’s majority.

The two largest parties in the federal parliament, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML, have formed an alliance to establish new governments at both the federal and provincial levels.

According to the agreement between the two parties, Nepali Congress will lead the government in Bagmati Province.
