NC signals allowing Parliament to function to unveil govt’s policy and program



KATHMANDU:  As the date for the joint session of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the National Assembly (NA) draws near, the main opposition party Nepali Congress is likely to not obstruct the joint session in which President Ram Chandra Paudel is unveiling the government’s policy and program.

President Paudel is slated to deliver an address during the joint assembly of both houses of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday.

In light of this, the Secretariat of the Federal Parliament has summoned the presence of its members, apprising them of President Poudel’s address scheduled for 3 pm.

Amidst this anticipation, the Nepali Congress is deliberating preparations aimed at avoiding any obstruction in the House.

“We are engaged in discussions for the same,” NC Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak said.

Echoing similar sentiments, CPN-UML chief whip Mahesh Bertaula emphasized that a democratic party like Nepali Congress should be afforded the opportunity to articulate its policies and programs unhindered.

“It’s imperative to move forward together,” he affirmed.
