KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed the government’s readiness to facilitate foreign businesspersons seeking to invest in Nepal.
In a meeting with a delegation from the Confederation of Indian Industries, PM Dahal assured that the government is open to policy reforms aimed at streamlining foreign investment processes.
Additionally, foreign investors can expect logistical support when investing in promising sectors in Nepal.
The delegation, which included representatives from various sectors, also met with Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun and Minister for Industries, Commerce, and Supply, Damodar Bhandari.
During the discussions, Finance Minister Pun acknowledged the significant role of the Indian economy in Nepal’s economic landscape and pledged to foster stronger trade and investment ties between the two nations.
Minister Bhandari affirmed the government’s commitment to providing necessary support to foreign investors, ensuring a conducive environment for the establishment of industries in Nepal.
The visit of the delegation, led by President of the Confederation of Indian Industries, Sanjeev Puri, coincided with the 58th annual general meeting of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI).
Puri served as the keynote speaker at the FNCCI’s annual general meeting, underscoring the importance of bilateral economic cooperation.
FNCCI President Chandra Dhakal and other officials also participated in the discussions, highlighting the mutual interest in enhancing economic collaboration between Nepal and India.
