CM Adhikari affirms incumbent govt’s tenure until completion

BAGLUNG: Chief Minister Khagaraj Adhikari of Gandaki Province has affirmed that the current provincial government will fulfill its mandate until the end of its term.

Speaking at the 10th District Convention of CPN (UML) Baglung, Adhikari dismissed the possibility of a mid-term election in the province, asserting that the incumbent government will remain in power until the completion of its tenure.

Addressing party members, he reflected on the fluctuations in political dynamics, noting his prior resignation from the Chief Minister’s position despite initiating significant projects.

Adhikari expressed confidence in the UML’s leadership and pledged to maintain stability within the Gandaki provincial government.

He emphasized the party’s commitment to securing a majority in the upcoming general election, urging party members to strive for this goal.

Adhikari highlighted the continuity of developmental initiatives from the first five-year plan, initiated under the leadership of former Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung, into the current administration’s agenda.

Acknowledging the heightened social and political tensions in the country, the Chief Minister underscored the necessity of forming new political alliances to steer the nation in a positive direction.

Adhikari portrayed the upcoming election as a pivotal mission for the UML, expressing optimism about the party’s prospects.

While anticipating a majority win, he affirmed the UML’s willingness to maintain alliances with like-minded parties in the interest of governance and stability.
