KATHMANDU: Chairman of Maoist Center, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, stated that his party’s primary focus is on fulfilling the development aspirations of the people, rather than political power struggles.

Speaking to journalists in Chitwan today, Prachanda emphasized that the Maoist Center is not focused on changing the government but on advancing the needs and aspirations of the public.

“Our focus is not on the government; it is on the people. It is about mobilizing the people and ensuring their development. We are continuously monitoring the government’s actions,” he said.

In a separate discussion, Prachanda reaffirmed that Nepal’s participation in the Chinese-led Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) aligns with the country’s interests.

He explained that with China and the United States being key global competitors, it is natural for both to take interest in each other’s initiatives, especially when two major strategic frameworks, such as the BRI and the Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS), are at play.
