Rabi to appear in Kaski Court for fourth time today

POKHARA: Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), will be presented in the Kaski District Court today after being in police custody since October 18.

His court appearance follows the expiration of a third extension on Saturday.

According to party sources, Lamichhane will be brought to court on Sunday.

Meanwhile, RSP sources said that supporters and party leaders will continue their demonstration at Pokhara’s Zero Kilometer (Ghanti Ghar) while Lamichhane is in court.

The party said Lamichhane is using his time in detention to conduct research and write.

While Lamichhane’s lawyers are advocating for his release from custody during the investigation, government lawyers argue that he should remain in custody.

There are concerns that Lamichhane may be transferred to Rupandehi after the deadline, as an arrest warrant has been issued for him related to the embezzlement of the Supreme Cooperative Savings in Butwal.

However, the police have not commented on this possibility.
