Ward Chair arrested with Rs 4.5 lakh bribe amount



JANAKPURDHAM: Upendra Sahni, the ward Chair of Basahiya Ward number 24 in Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City, has been arrested for accepting a bribe.

Sahni was caught with approximately Rs 450,000 in bribe money from a client in exchange for recommending a real estate route.

Along with Sahni, Ward Secretary Upendra Sah and Office Assistant Bijay Mandal were also arrested by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) team.

The two officials were implicated in the bribery scheme and taken into custody alongside Sahni.
