Prachanda stresses public support to defend Constitution

SIRAHA: Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, has emphasized the crucial role of public support and vigilance in defending and implementing the Constitution.

Speaking at a program in Siraha on Tuesday, Prachanda stated that it is the responsibility of the people to continuously advocate for the protection and implementation of the constitution that emerged from their struggle.

He expressed gratitude to the people of Siraha for electing him as their representative in the 2070 BS elections, which allowed him to contribute to the creation and implementation of the Constitution.

He stressed that ongoing public support is essential for safeguarding and enforcing the constitution.

Reflecting on his past efforts to build trust with the people of Madhes during the constitution’s promulgation, Prachanda noted that the Constitution represents a significant effort to ensure the rights of oppressed communities.

He stated, “The Constitution, built on the foundation of people’s sacrifice, has worked hard to guarantee the rights of the oppressed. The principles of inclusive and proportional representation, along with federalism, have empowered long-oppressed communities.”

He added, “Now, it is time to change their situation through full implementation. Cooperation is indispensable.”

Prachanda also pointed out recent attempts to undermine the rights established by the Constitution and urged all people, particularly the more oppressed communities, to remain vigilant.
