KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized that the national vision of a “Prosperous Nepal: Happy Nepali” cannot be achieved without eradicating poverty.

Speaking at the installation of ‘Lions International District 325 K’ and the first Cabinet meeting today, Prime Minister Oli stressed the importance of focusing on employment, production, and entrepreneurship to help Nepal graduate from the list of least developed countries to developing status.

He reminded attendees that the government is actively addressing these areas.

“Twenty percent of Nepalis are still below the poverty line. To build a prosperous Nepal, we must create an environment that meets the basic needs of the people and paves the way for further progress,” the Prime Minister stated.

He also recalled his recent discussion with United Nations representatives, where he emphasized that the security, peace, and prosperity of humanity are shared concerns.

“The safety of the earth is at risk if human security is compromised. We must all work with the understanding that ensuring human security is our primary responsibility,” he said.

PM Oli further asserted that his actions are guided by a commitment to truth and honesty, without compromising power.

He pledged that the current government would continue to support organizations like Lions International that promote truth and serve humanity.

Reaffirming his dedication to the nation’s development, the Prime Minister highlighted that organizing society is the responsibility of politics and political parties.

He also addressed the issue of defaming others based on falsehoods, stating that such tendencies are not acceptable.
