Parliamentary committee interrogates Tulsi Multipurpose Cooperative Chairman in fraud case

KATHMANDU: The Parliamentary Investigation Committee, formed to investigate the cooperatives fraud case, has interrogated Kedarnath Sharma, Chairman of Tulsi Multipurpose Cooperative.

Sharma, currently incarcerated at Nakhu Jail, was summoned by the committee on Saturday to provide his statement, according to committee chairman and lawmaker Surya Bahadur Thapa Chhetri.

The committee has initiated the process of recording statements from operational members and other individuals implicated in the case.

The Parliamentary Investigation Committee interrogated Chairman of Tulsi Multi Purpose Cooperative Kedarnath Sharma on Saturday.

Today, the committee is scheduled to interrogate Gita Sharma, CB Lama, and Nunam Subba.

On Friday, statements were taken from individuals associated with Gautam Shree Multipurpose Cooperatives, Laligurans Multipurpose Cooperatives, and Gorkha Saving Cooperatives.

The committee, tasked with concluding its investigation within three months, has completed evidence collection and other preliminary procedures.

It has now started recording statements from those accused of involvement in the fraud, including those currently imprisoned.

Previously, the committee directed the Home Ministry to extradite 18 individuals involved in the fraud who had fled to foreign countries.
