Landslide blocks Karnali Highway, stranding hundreds of passengers



JUMLA: The Karnali Highway has been blocked by a landslide, which occurred last night at Ranchuli, Molfa, and Furke in Kalikot district, along the Surkhet-Jumla road section.

Efforts to clear the debris have been underway since this morning, according to Bir Bahadur JT, Information Officer at the Road Division Office, Jumla.

The highway is expected to reopen once the debris is fully removed.

The landslide has left hundreds of passengers stranded, as vehicles traveling from Jumla and Mugu to Surkhet, Nepalgunj, and Kathmandu are stuck on the route.
