NEPSE rises by over 23 points, trading volume reaches Rs 5.74 billion on Wednesday

KATHMANDU: The stock market continued its upward trend today, with the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index increasing by 23.25 points, closing at 2,175.40.

All sectors, except for development banks, saw gains.

The insurance, microfinance, hotel, and manufacturing sectors experienced significant increases.

Balefi Hydropower Company shares rose by 10 percent.

Additionally, shares of three other companies increased by more than 8 percent.

However, Buddha Bhumi Nepal Hydropower Company shares fell by 10 percent despite the overall market rise.

A total of 322 companies saw the trading of 15.2 million shares, amounting to Rs 5.74 billion in transactions.

The highest trading volume was in Hathaway Investment Nepal, with shares worth Rs 150 million traded.
