KATHMANDU: The writ petition filed against Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in a cooperative fraud case has been allocated to the joint bench of Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Til Prasad Shrestha.

Previously, on June 2, a single bench led by Justice Shrestha prioritized the writ against Home Minister Lamichhane in the cooperative fraud case, summoning both parties for an interim order today.

The Supreme Court has furnished a copy of the complaint against Home Minister Lamichhane concerning the Suryadarshan Cooperative in Kasti fraud.

Advocate Anupam Bhattarai lodged a petition with the Supreme Court, seeking a suspension of Lamichhane from the post of Home Minister as this affect the investigation process.

The writ also calls for the annulment of the Attorney General’s office’s letter asserting the absence of a cooperative fraud case against Lamichhane.
