Corruption and corrupt people are country’s enemies: Koshi CM Karki



KATHMANDU: Chief Minister (CM) of Koshi Province, Hikmat Karki, has stated that both corruption and corrupt individuals pose a significant threat to the country’s progress.

Speaking at the ‘National Strategy and Action Plan Against Corruption’ interaction organized by the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Kathmandu today, Chief Minister Karki emphasized the urgent need to establish Nepal as a corruption-free nation.

Highlighting the importance of zero tolerance towards corruption, Karki stressed that political leaders, administrative officials, and security bodies must all commit to this goal.

He outlined that a policy-level plan would be developed through necessary discussions to formulate an effective anti-corruption strategy for the province.

Karki expressed confidence that significant progress could be achieved by establishing robust rules, policies, and commitments.

He remarked, “We must all cooperate from our respective roles to control corruption and establish a positive international reputation for our country.”

Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Phanindra Gautam, Joint-Secretary Rajendra Thapa, and Under-Secretary Om Prakash Parajuli also highlighted the necessity of monitoring corruption risks and preparing action plans for provincial and local bodies to address and combat corruption effectively.
