Corruption case filed against Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and 10 others in Jaleshwar Municipality



KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a corruption case against 12 individuals, including the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Chief Administrative Officer of Jaleshwar Municipality in Mahottari District.

The case, lodged on Thursday, involves Mayor Suresh Sah Senar, Deputy Mayor Raushan Khatun, and former Chief Administrative Officer Mitra Lal Dhakal, among others.

They are accused of corruption related to a construction project in Jaleshwar Municipality-1.

The allegations state that these individuals issued payments exceeding the actual project cost by Rs 584,637.

Additionally implicated in the case are Ward Chairman Anil Kumar Jha, Officer Direndra Jha, senior engineer Pawan Kumar Jha, engineer Rakesh Kumar Chaudhary, sub-engineer Dipesh Kumar Sah, member of the working committee Sogara Khatun, Chairman of the Consumer Group Rakesh Kumar Sah, secretary Sikendra Chaudhary, and treasurer Santoshi Devi.
