Role of diplomatic missions and development partners crucial in positioning Nepal as investment hub: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has urged diplomatic missions in Nepal and development partners to play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the Nepal Investment Summit 2024, scheduled for the 28th and 29th of this month.

Addressing a gathering of diplomatic missions and development partners at Singha Durbar today, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of their involvement in establishing Nepal as an attractive investment destination.

“We anticipate active participation in the investment summit and seek the support of development partners, both bilateral and multilateral, to maximize our capacity,” he stated.

Highlighting the government’s commitment to prioritizing projects of provinces and local governments alongside federal ministries, the Prime Minister affirmed the government’s dedication to creating an investment-friendly environment by revising laws, implementing procedural reforms, and ensuring an obstruction-free environment for investors during project implementation.

“The summit will serve as a platform to link Nepali production and services with the global market and facilitate the collaboration of stakeholders, including investors, development partners, and financial institutions, to explore opportunities and foster long-term partnerships,” he added.

The government of Nepal stands ready to provide any necessary support to current and prospective investors, he emphasized.
