UML’s Yamlal Kandel appointed as Chief Minister of Karnali province

KATHMANDU: Yamlal Kandel, the parliamentary party leader of CPN-UML in Karnali province, has been appointed as the Chief Minister.

He presented his claim before Karnali Province Chief Tilak Pariyar on Tuesday.

Kandel enjoys the support of 23 lawmakers from CPN-UML, CPN-Maoist Center, and the CPN-Unified Socialist Party.

The formation of the Karnali Province government requires the support of 21 lawmakers.

As per the agreement among the coalition parties at the center, Karnali Province was allotted to UML.
