CIAA files bribery case against Banepa Ward Chair Bade



KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has officially filed a case against Nripesh Bade, the chairperson of Ward No. 9 in Banepa Municipality, over allegations of bribery.

The CIAA has taken action against Bade for allegedly accepting a bribe in exchange for facilitating a road construction contract.

According to CIAA, Bade had demanded a bribe of Rs 1.5 million from an individual seeking services in connection with the construction contract.

CIAA officials apprehended Bade red-handed while accepting the specified amount during a recent operation.

The case has been registered at the Special Court, Kathmandu.

Bade was caught with the bribe money on January 17.
