Dr. Govinda KC arrested again for protesting in restricted zone

KATHMANDU: Dr. Govinda KC has once again been taken into custody, this time from Maitighar, for staging demonstrations and protests in an area designated as prohibited by the government.

This arrest follows a similar incident on Saturday when Dr. KC, along with nine supporters, was detained and later released.

Currently held at a police station in Singha Durbar, Dr. KC’s repeated protests highlight his persistent advocacy for various demands. His demands include the implementation of previous agreements, strengthening government hospital capacity through increased staffing, providing free medicines, expediting the establishment of the health science institute in Geta, and ensuring the establishment of at least one government medical college in each province, as mandated by the Medical Education Act.
