PM Oli inaugurates Damak Business Complex

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has inaugurated Damak Business Complex at Dapgachchhi, Damak Municipality-3 in the district today.

The 18-storey business complex which is located four kilometres away from the main town area was constructed at a cost of one billion  635 million and 446 thousand.

The government aims to develop the complex spread over four bighas 16 kaththa area into a major destination for domestic and foreign visitors.

Rabi Lamichhane’s custody extended by another four days

The Kaski District Court has approved the extension of detention for Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane for an additional four days.

Lamichhane was presented in court on Sunday by the Kaski District Police Office for further investigation into his involvement in the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case.

In addition to the Suryadarshan case, Lamichhane has provided statements regarding his alleged roles in the frauds of other cooperatives, including the Supreme Cooperative of Butwal, Swarnalaxmi Cooperative of Kathmandu, and Sahara Chitwan Cooperative in Chitwan.

US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu arrives in Nepal

US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu has arrived in Nepal for a three-day visit.

US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Lu, landed in Kathmandu on Sunday, following visits to India and Sri Lanka.

According to the US Embassy in Kathmandu, Assistant Secretary Lu is scheduled to meet with Nepali leaders and engage with civil society during his stay.

Durga Prasai remanded for three more days

The Kathmandu District Court has granted permission to extend the detention of controversial medical entrepreneur Durga Prasai for an additional three days.

The bench of Judge Durga Khadka approved the request on Sunday, allowing the police to continue their investigation.

Prasai was arrested on charges of spreading misleading information against former Prime Minister KP Oli. The police sought an extension, citing incomplete investigations into the case.

NPL: Janakpur Bolts defeats Lumbini Lions by 1 run

Janakpur Bolts edged out Lumbini Lions by a narrow margin of 1 run in the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Sunday.

Lumbini’s playoff hopes have weakened as they suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in the tournament.

With four losses in as many matches, Lumbini remains at the bottom of the points table without any points.

NPL: Chitwan Rhinos ends Sudurpaschim Royals’ winning Streak

Chitwan Rhinos claimed victory in the 13th match of the Nepal Premier League cricket on Sunday, defeating Sudurpaschim Royals by 33 runs.

This defeat marks the end of Sudurpaschim’s unbeaten run in the tournament, denying them a fourth consecutive win.

In the match held at the Kirtipur ground, Sudurpaschim struggled with weak batting and failed to chase a modest target set by Chitwan.

Gold price drops below Rs 1.5 lakh per tola

The price of gold in the Nepali market has fallen below Rs 1.5 lakh per tola on the first trading day of the week, Sunday.

According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Federation, the price of gold has decreased by Rs 400 per tola today.

Gold, which was trading at Rs 150,100 per tola last Friday, is now being traded at Rs 149,700.
