KATHMANDU: US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu has arrived in Nepal for a three-day visit.
US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Lu, landed in Kathmandu on Sunday, following visits to India and Sri Lanka.
According to the US Embassy in Kathmandu, Assistant Secretary Lu is scheduled to meet with Nepali leaders and engage with civil society during his stay.
The embassy stated that the visit will help further strengthen Nepal-US cooperation in areas such as environmental protection, women’s empowerment, cultural promotion, and sustainable development.
During his trip, he will also hold discussions with youth groups.
“His visit underscores the commitment to strengthening U.S.-Nepal ties and advancing cooperation in key areas: environmental protection, women’s empowerment, cultural preservation, and sustainable development,” the US Embassy in Kathmandu said.
