Unified Socialist asks province committees to recommend candidates for by-election



KATHMANDU: The Unified Socialist has asked its concerned province committees to make recommendations for the candidates for the by-elections to take place in some local levels on December 1.

Secretary of the party, Som Prasad Pandey said that the local committees have been directed to make recommendations by November 15.

He said that the recommendations should be made by identifying experienced leaders with organizational capacity and developmental know-how.

The Election Commission has fixed the deadline for November 17 for fielding the candidates’ nomination.

The by-election is taking place for 44 vacant posts including two chiefs of the district coordination committees, two rural municipality chairs and four vice-chairs, one mayor and one deputy-mayor, and 34 ward chairs.
