KATHMANDU: The Janak Education Materials Centre Ltd (JEMC) has reported that 80% of schools across the country have received textbooks for the upcoming academic session.

As per the Centre’s data, a total of 17,000,000 school textbooks have been printed by March 26, with 80% of them already delivered to districts.

Anil Kumar Jha, the General Manager of the Centre, stated that the books have been distributed to 75 out of the 77 districts.

Distribution has commenced in Solukhumbu, Banke, and Bardiya today, with plans to start in Kailali tomorrow.

Distribution in other districts is scheduled to begin by April 10. In the Kathmandu Valley, distribution will begin after rural districts have been covered.

However, Jha noted a slight delay in distribution due to local levels’ failure to allocate budgets to schools on time.
