Public Service Commission aims for employee management reform

KARNALI: The Public Service Commission (PSC) has taken a decisive step towards reforming employee management by focusing on continuous improvements in the recruitment process, testing, curriculums, and examination systems.

During the fourth national conference of the PSC held in Surkhet, a declaration was issued, pledging to uphold fair competition and ensure meritocracy to retain trust.

PSC member Bir Bahadur Rai emphasized the selection of the right candidates through fair competition, which contributes to the institutional development of the federal system and promotes good governance.

Under the theme “Competence, impartiality, and fairness: PSC’s commitment,” the two-day conference issued a five-point declaration and a 13-point decision.

It was emphasized that constitutional values, inclusive principles, and selection criteria would be fostered by the PSC.

Furthermore, the PSC aims to revise curriculums for various services and posts, both technical and non-technical, to enhance effectiveness.

Additionally, performance indicators for government employees will be created in alignment with PSC principles and values, ensuring uniformity in spending on exam conduct and management.

The conference was attended by PSC chairpersons, members, office bearers of provincial PSCs, secretaries, joint secretaries, and other employees, highlighting the collective commitment to improving employee management practices.
